During Golden Week 2026, Usuki offers a wide range of cultural events under the theme “Explore Usuki.”

Visitors can enjoy unique experiences across four different areas: the Stone Buddhas, Notsu countryside, Castle Ruins, and the historic castle town.


1. Discover National Treasures – Usuki Stone Buddhas

Perfect for fans of history, Buddhism, and peaceful scenery.

4. Enjoy Food & Festivities – Historic Castletown

Perfect for food lovers and anyone interested in traditional architecture and lively local events.

    Local food, handmade crafts, souvenirs, and performances.

  • Golden Week Limited: Japanese Garden Café   May 2–5  

    A pop‑up café inside the former Inaba clan villa—enjoy a peaceful moment in a historic garden.

  • “Walk with a Guide Through the World of Ōtomo Sōrin”   May 4 10:00-11:30

    Explore the streets shaped by Nanban trade and East‑West cultural exchange during the era of Christian daimyō Ōtomo Sōrin.
